To hoard is "to collect and hide or store for preservation, security or future use".
People hoard for a variety of reasons, all linked very closely to whom they are and where they come from. The psychology of hoarding is a very sensitive matter and very often there are underlying issues as motivators behind this behaviour.
At All Organised we approach hoarding with compassion. We understand the strong emotional attachment a hoarder can feel towards an object. We respect our client's sentiments and wishes and will do our utmost to deal with these cases with understanding and integrity.
In extreme cases hoarding may be a symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorder. These individuals may not see that there is a problem which can make cleaning and clearing their home and implementing treatment very challenging. We aim to work with loved ones, counsellors and therapists by helping to clear useless objects at a pace set by the client.
Before taking on an extreme hoarding task, All Organised will meet with the involved parties to get insight into the counterproductive beliefs that
motivate hoarders to hold onto things. We will take guidance from this to the pace at which we will help to conquer the clutter.
